Delays Hit West Scranton Church Edifice Plans

In West Scranton the erection of the First Baptist and St. Mark's Lutheran churches is delayed by a continuing strike among building trades workers. Bids for St. Mark's are in, but work cannot start until the strike ends, with fall or next year expected. The First Baptist faces similar delays as funds and plans exist but bids await resolution. Interior painting and frescoing of public schools also stalled pending labor settlement before the new term begins.
