In Santa Barbara California Mrs K R Richardson 55 and her 17 year old daughter Ethel were murdered late Sunday night. Police suspect Scott Richardson her stepson who had threats to kill. A tramp is another theory. A workman found Ethel in a vacant field. her throat was cut and wounds on the head. Mrs Richardson lay face down in a pool of blood on the bed and a bullet hole in her head. She died at noon. Both wore night clothing.
The Allan Line steamer State of Nebraska collided with HMS Dido at Clyde moorings after refusing helm. Both vessels suffered damaged plates. Dido is described as a second class cruiser. Other naval and passage notices from New York include arrivals and sailings such as Southwark Majestic and Spree, with ships passing the Lizard and the Island of Wight.
New York July 7 The Republican state convention will be held at Saratoga Springs on August 27. Delegates and party leaders prepare for the gathering to nominate candidates and chart statewide strategy.
