Costello Opposes West Market Street Franchise Extension
Third ward Councilman Costello declares he will oppose granting a Central Rapid Transit franchise unless the line extends the full length of West Market street. Central company secretary John H. Brooks says the plan is to extend beyond West Market and toward Corks Summit Glenburn and possibly Lake Winola, but construction will proceed only as fast as the two year limit allows. Brooks adds the company would welcome an ordinance granting a right of way for the entire street if Costello approves.
