Philadelphia January 10 delegates to national and state conventions chosen. Quay opposition omits Magisterial Jermon's name as several wards contest vacant seats. National delegates elected from five districts include Bingham, Bromley, Shields, Anderson, Penrose, Lane among others.
The hire monthly examination of reports of bar iron sales for November and December completed today by Amalgamated association officials shows a two cent per ton advance for pudding and wage rises for finishers. The increase, nearly four percent since April 184, marks the highest iron worker wages since the 1879 80 boom.

Emma Miller a Hartdegan’s Newark clerk identifies the silver bottle holder linked to poison as not purchased by Roland Molineux. She says she could not positively identify the purchaser and would not recognize him now. Bank tellers link the Cornish and Barnet letters and poison package to Molineux’s handwriting. Trial adjourned.
Judge W. B. McClure of Lauderdale County probate court was found dead in the street early this morning. He was shot multiple times with buckshot and bloodhounds were sent to pursue the killer.

The funeral of Rev Edward McGlynn was held at St Marys Church Newburgh crowded to capacity with prominent clergy and city officials in attendance Archbishop Corrigan presiding. Dr Richard T Burtsell paid tribute describing McGlynn's intellect and long friendship. After service the coffin was taken by train to New York for burial.
