Chambersburg Pa January 3 One of the county valley’s most familiar figures and shrewd local businessman Jacobi Master died at his home in Le Master. He was 41 and left a fortune of about 1500 owning much of the town. Also in London today Reverend George Buckle father of George Earle Buckle editor of the Times died.
The United States ambassador Joseph H. Choate met Lord Salisbury to press representations on Delagoa bay flour seizures. Britain weighs whether foodstuffs are contraband of war and may craft new rules distinguishing domestic from military food.
A joint committee to hear Goebel Taylor governor and lieutenant governor contests will be formed tomorrow with three senators and eight representatives. Goebel leaders aim for swift final resolution while Taylor’s side plans rebuttal and claims of Democratic fraud.
