February Letter Defines Benefits Of New Delaware Valley Road
The Anthracite Coal Operators Association argues that the Delaware Valley and Kingston Rail road would modernize a long established route, benefit New York by lowering coal prices, and improve freight rates for independent operators while boosting regional development and reducing reliance on competing bituminous coal. The report also notes a major Pennsylvania mine fire and plans to pump water, mine the crop, and build a new mammoth coal breaker costing about 1.1 million with 80 mine cars per day capacity.
