Funeral of Peter Probst Held in Evangelical Lutheran Church
The funeral for Peter Probst, who died Wednesday morning, was held Friday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church with Rev. Mr. Lehman delivering the tribute. Interment followed in the Protestant cemetery. Heavy Thursday rains caused damage on Pine Street as floodwaters overwhelmed an inadequately sized drain and inundated cellars. lingering water in the Delaware and Hudson mine workings near St. Thomas church raised concerns, though a planned calm breaker and coal removal will reduce the heap behind the Catholic church. St. Thomas' congregation resumed services Saturday night, continuing through Thursday with a varied program each evening.
