Coal Railroads Recover as Floods Hit Production
The mining and railroad networks are recovering from floods with several lines returning to service. Major routes such as Delaware & Hudson and Lackawanna move coal while others face ongoing water trouble and full capacity won’t return before the new year. Demand for coal remains high, outpacing producers and prompting intentional car utilization to meet rail needs.
