Reform Committees Plan Soft Approach Against City Evils

The newly organized Reform society met to draft a plan aimed at reducing vice in the city. Leaders say they will avoid harsh measures for now and begin by targeting beer gardens, saloons, nickel slot machines, and gambling devices. Representatives will urge hotel owners and bar operators to close on Sundays, with arrests and convictions only if deemed necessary. The movement remains selective and non broad, seeking moral reforms through common-sense actions rather than immediate legal escalation.
