The Green family of Charles W. Green travel agent for the Ble Jour railway were found dead in their home on West Thirty fourth street. Mrs Green lay in a doorway with a revolver beside her and the three children aged 15 9 and 6 were in bed. Neighbors heard pistol shots Wednesday at 2 am and a neighbor entered the house to find all dead. Mrs Green is alleged to have killed the children then herself while Mr Green was away on a trip. He is en route from Salt Lake City and friends say home life was happy.
John Evans of Seeleyville was found dead in a water pool behind his barn after a hunting trip. He suffered fits and was believed to have fallen in during a seizure. Coroner’s jury returned a verdict of accidental death. he was 29, married with two children.
Wilkes Barre August 4 miners under Lehigh Valley Coal company systems ordered to work six days a week until further notice. This is the earliest time in many years that miners have a chance to work full time.
