Railroad notes and excursions cut fares to New York
Lehigh Valley trainmen face new travel rules while the Delaware Lackawanna and Western advertises cheap rides. Conductors Skeela and Helsted return from vacation as horace Dailey and Wally Capewell cover duties. The Carney Indians beat the DL&W crew 17 to 4 in Kingston. A new Mount Carbon locomotive firing method is demonstrated, reducing fuel costs from 6 to 5 cents per engine. Excursions to New York drop to 2.75 for DL&W and other lines, boosting a likely busy travel weekend.
