Burglaries Hit Clark's Summit Store for Third Time in Three Weeks

Frace and Parker’s store at Clark’s Summit, near the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western yard, was burglarized again on Friday night July 16. The robbers pried the front door, failed to loot the safe, then reentered by the rear, finding only books and papers and taking cigars and about two pennies. The owners have kept money and stamps out of the store, and a trap is promised for the next visit. No staff noticed suspicions, and locals suspect intruders traveled by coal train from Scranton. Earlier thefts included Young’s general store entry attempt and Weeks’ shoe store loss of twenty pairs of shoes.
