Sewer dispute dominates Carbondale council session

John Waterfield appeared before the Common Council over a disputed sewer hookup on his Eighth avenue property. City Engineer Kupp had disconnected Waterfield’s spur after the city claimed the resident benefited from the sewer without paying. Waterfield argued the city should pursue the lien in court, while City Solicitor Stuart said there is no lien and the city acted to enforce payment. The matter was referred to the street committee for review with the mayor and solicitor.
