Cincinnati April 21 Scott Jackson the dental student faced the bar of Justice in the Campbell circuit court of Kentucky at Newport to stand trial for murder of Pearl Bryan. The prisoner appeared quiet as he entered the courtroom sat with his attorneys and exchanged greetings. A jury was sworn in and proceedings resumed at 2 pm. Witnesses included John Huling who found the headless body and Dr W S Tingley Campbell county coroner who described wounds and blood clots noting the head was severed while the girl was alive. The defense secured a possible eight to ten hour window of death. Court adjourned until 10:30 tomorrow morning.
Reports from Sandusky County Ohio detail a devastating cyclone with at least five new fatally injured. Mrs Bchorf and her child were found early after a sleepless night in rain and wreckage. Wilson Brand of Booktown and Hiram Hendricks of Muscalonge are among the fatally hurt. Hendricks lost both arms and legs. Edward Logue of Booktown was crushed under a fallen barn. property losses reach about 200000 dollars.
Reneas State Troops ordered out after a riot at a Bond Bros circus in St John Kansas. grafters inside the show were using gambling devices. a clash erupted when police tried to arrest a circus man and citizens backed the officers. circus employees and roustabouts fought back with canes tent stakes and improvised weapons.
An employee of the circus living locally was badly injured in a fight. Another circus worker was shot in the hip and several citizens were hurt. County Attorney Jennings notified Governor Morrill in Topeka for militia. The governor ordered troops, but trains were not held and the circus men escaped toward Dodge City. A Newton company of fifty armed men traveled through on the Santa Fe at 8:20 am.

Samuel Tudor, a colored coachman employed by Edward Ford, president of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, was fatally shot at Breighton station by John Standall, a Slav laborer at the gas works. Standall says the shot was accidental and has been arrested.
Lawrence Masa Spee 21 and Frank Gee ley 18 along with Herbert Kennedy 4, Englishmen, were swept over the Merrimac river dam yesterday while rowing in a factory setting and drowned. They were recovered.

Linford L. Biles foreman of the Holmes jury was electrocuted on his Tasker street home roof while handling a live telephone wire that threatened a fire. His son George C. Biles was severely shocked and is in critical condition at St Agnes hospital.
