A 23 year old New Yorker fatally shot his wife Ida in their sleep at 79 South Fifth Street Williamsburg then killed himself. The incident occurred in the Bellaire building as their six year old son watched. Neighbors knew little about Merrick who was described as insanely jealous.

James I. Andrews a Hanover Street Nickelodeon property man lies in critical condition after being shot in the back by his wife Josephine Andrews following a performance. She sent for a vaudeville performer Isitty Connors then fired as he turned toward the dressing room. The incident occurred at the Nickelodeon in Boston.
Senator Tillman arrived in Denver five days ago for the Democratic State convention and received a large welcome at the Brown Palace hotel. He was presented with a pitchfork and other tokens, then shook hands with thousands of supporters after brief remarks from T. M. Holden on behalf of the Tillman clubs.

Philadelphia, April 14. John Kane, 45, was stabbed to death by his wife Lizzie Kane, 40, at their home 694 Lombard Street. Lizzie seized a kitchen knife during a quarrel and fatally wounded him. she is in custody. Kane ran a cheap restaurant frequented by locals, and both had prior arrests for drinking.
