Trial date set for London man in double robbery case
Jason A. Wagers, 35, London, appeared in Laurel County Circuit Court for a pretrial conference. He faces two counts of robbery, five counts of first degree unlawful imprisonment, and four counts of first degree wanton endangerment tied to two 2023 robberies of Cash Express and Taco Bell. Shoreline Sweep at Laurel Lake Draws 240 Volunteers
More than 240 volunteers joined Saturday's Laurel Lake shoreline cleanup. Amy Allen of the US Forest Service and Amber Owens of Whitley County PRIDE coordinated the effort, with eight Bald Rock Volunteer Fire Department members including Preston Coffey, 13, from Corbin assisting. The crew collected about 15 bags of trash plus tires and buoys from the lake.

Sean OD Messer, 35, charged with murder and first degree fleeing police, appeared in Laurel County Circuit Court for a pretrial conference. The indictment cites the October stabbing death of 25 year old Pamela S. Bobbitt, a mother of four, at Plantation Apartments in London. Police found Bobbitt in Apartment 26 on South Laurel Road.
