Two Tri County doctors took part in the Boston Marathon when blasts near the finish line killed three and wounded more than 130. Dr Ronald S Dubin of Harrogate Tennessee and Dr Michael Simons of London survived. Belmont officials reported both men were safe.
Two bombs exploded near the Boston Marathon finish line killing three people and wounding over 130 in a bloody scene. A White House official, speaking anonymously, said the attack was being treated as a potential terrorist incident as investigators pursued leads.
Two people escaped injury after a two vehicle crash on U S 25W at the Cumberland Falls Highway intersection. Tina Asher 51 of Corbin drove a 2005 Chrysler Sebring northbound and was rear ended by Brad Hickman 21 also of Corbin driving a white Dodge Ram. Asher treated on scene, traffic halted over an hour.
Whitley County District Court heard Monday's preliminary hearings for Roy William Lawson Jr and Rebecca Gari Lawson of Maple Creek Road. They face first degree robbery charges from April 9 at Young's Grocery on KY 904 amid Rebecca also facing criminal mischief counts. State witness was Chief Deputy K Y Fuson.
Recaptured escapee Shannon Wynn aged 34 and his girlfriend Katherine Wheeler aged 39 appeared before Judge Fred White in Whitley County District Court for preliminary hearings. Wheeler was first brought before White in handcuffs with Public Defender Ron Findell. Wynn allegedly walked off a work detail on April and was arrested five days later.
