Don Upshaw, Navy electronics technician, leaves with his mother Mrs. Orpha Upshaw for Bainbridge, Maryland, to attend Naval Academy prep school after ranking among the top 500 in a nationwide exam. Six months of training there may qualify him for another exam to advance through naval grades. Upshaw is a Scottsdale High School graduate who studied at Arizona State College Tempe for a year before entering the Navy.
