Zsa Zsa Gabor Sued Over Advertising Use in Chicago

Three hurt in crashes on Indian School Road

Police report three people injured in separate crashes on Indian School Road on Thursday. Shirley Anne Evans, 44, and her daughter Susan, 14, were hospitalized with minor injuries. Mattie Eunice Smith, 42, pedestrian, was in satisfactory condition after being struck on Scottsdale Road near El Dorado by Walter A Snell. Carlin, 56, was charged with unsafe lane change in the Evans collision.

Two Phoenix youths charged with stealing 13 gallon keg in Scottsdale

Michael C. Pomeroy aged 18 and Adam C. Nichols aged 19 were jailed in Scottsdale after stealing a $13 keg of beer from Madison Chevrolet at 1 p.m. Ruben Miranda, a Scottsdale resident and beer truck driver, caught them loading the keg into a car and called police. Nichols posted $110 bail and is due in city court next Wednesday. Pomeroy remained jailed and pleaded guilty with probation set by Judge Ed Boyle.

Huey P Newton Sentenced for Voluntary Manslaughter

Huey P Newton founder of the Black Panthers was sentenced to 2 to 15 years in state prison for voluntary manslaughter in the Oakland police officer's killing. Judge Monroe Friedman denied motions for new trial and bail during appeal. Newton was ordered to Vacaville State Medical Facility.

Born Montclair New Jersey he worked 35 years as a stock clerk for Public Services Coordinated Transport in Maplewood New Jersey. Came to Yuma 1967 and Scottsdale two months ago Army WWI veteran. Arizona Supreme Court to hear two appeals on board size referendum

Republicans seek review of Superior Court rulings over petitions to expand Maricopa and Pima county boards from three to five members. Attorneys argue petitions show 26 560 signatures vs 28 064 claimed, and challenge deputy voter registrar circulated petitions. Court meets Tuesday to decide whether to allow the referendum on November ballot.

Fire Damages Koeppen Home Carport Storage Attic

A Thursday morning blaze in the carport storage room and attic of Richard W. Koeppen’s home at 8631 KE Jackrabbit caused about 800 dollars in damage. Firefighters used 2200 gallons of water to extinguish the fire, which was contained with no further losses. A hedge fire at 76 W and St was put out later with no damage reported.
