Major channel work planned in Paradise Valley wash
Paradise Valley officials and developer Myron Staab reach an agreement to begin major channel work in the Indian Bend Wash within the town as early as next week. The project covers about one third of the wash through Paradise Valley from Doubletree Ranch Road to Mountain View Road and connects with a wash segment Staab has already built in Phoenix. Staab owns 80 acres adjacent to the wash with half in an unincorporated area slated for possible annexation. two parcels totaling 60 acres lie in the proposed channel path. Town Manager Oscar Butt notes a 20 acre parcel may require condemnation for flood control. Staab says he has cooperation from other landowners and urges cluster zoning for affected subdivisions.
