Apollo Moon Mission Test Flight Targets Early 1960s
A test model of the Apollo spacecraft sits on the Saturn V booster 12 stories above the ground as scientists pursue a first lunar crew by decade's end. The 1.4 million pound thrust booster and second stage aim to put the 36 700 pound capsule into a 115 to 135 mile orbit. The 80 foot long satellite should be visible at dawn or dusk as a bright moving star. The test seeks further gains in the $20 billion moon program while validating heat stresses aerodynamic design and the escape tower mechanism for crew safety.

Scottsdale City Faces Licensing Ruling Over Tax Credits
Scottsdale officials contest a municipal court ruling that exempts state licensed professionals from city business license fees. Judge Felke said licenses and taxes are inseparable, urging a possible ordinance revision while the city awaits an appeal and continues billing firms under the tax. The case centers on realtor Dan Weisberger and firms with state licenses paying quarterly fees. The city expects about 22 000 in annual income, with potential loss if the ruling stands.
