Beavers Open 1948 Season With First Practice at Scottsdale
Thirty-three football hopefuls met Coach Richard Jiggs Hardt at Scottsdale High for the opening workout on September 7. Coach Ford emphasizes conditioning as the squad lacks experience after five starters graduated, with only seven lettermen reporting and Joe Cavin as the lone returner. The team schedules five home games and four away, starting October 1 at Ft. Thomas, with home games Fridays at 8 p.m. Scottsdale boosters will see the Beavers October 8 against Hayden.
