Phoenix chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society meets Thursday to spotlight the Lost Church of Tabira near Gran Quivira. Richard Howard, archaeologist at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, discusses the church’s origin and Gran Quivira history with slides at the Heard Museum.
Mrs. Harold W. Newton of Phoenix and Mrs. Gene Pearsall of Globe joined Arizona women’s clubs at a two day Environmental Responsibility Workshop in Houston August 26 28. Delegates from 250 western states discussed community volunteer efforts and environmental conservation with awards totaling 55000 to top projects.
