New Gibraltar receiver sought amid Gibraltar Savings case

PHOENIX A court petition for a new receiver was to be filed if questions on receivership counsel and procedures in the Gibraltar Savings and Loan bankruptcy were not settled by noon today. Attorney General Darrell Smith set the deadline in a telegram to Judge Charles Stidham, expressing dissatisfaction and proposing Franklin Stowell replace B C McCullum. Gibraltar was placed in receivership Aug 9 with FSLIC appointed as receiver.

Ronald E Neff obituary and funeral plans announced

Ronald Earle Neff 42 died Tuesday in Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. Green Acres Mortuary with burial at Green Acres cemetery. Rev David Ellsworth to officiate. Survivors include wife Benny of Scottsdale two sisters Marcella Floyd and Janice Jackson and half brother Richard Hedges. He had worked for the Health area office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and served in World War I. Neff was born in Bluffton Indiana and lived in Scottsdale since 1962.

McCune Money Suit Under Study

Superior Court Judge Warren McCarthy had under advisement motions on unpaid bills for Walker McCune’s $5.6 million Phoenix home. Blast at Badger Ordnance Works Injures Several in Baraboo

An explosion ripped through a gunpowder line at the Badger Ordnance Works in Baraboo Wisconsin injuring several workers.
