Entertaining mix at Scottsdale Review falls short
A BroadWay Showcase revue in Executive House features Betty Smith and Ardell Vaughan with standout singing. The act, lacking cohesion, draws mixed passersby as plans shift to a midnight follow-up of skits and jokes. Linda Caldwell shines as a lively torch singer, while other acts underwhelm. The piece notes openings and restarts at Paul Shanks French Quarter and Scottsdale Ramada Inn with changes in personnel and venues.
