Deem Construction Plans Appeal Over Scottsdale Center Ruling
Deem Construction will appeal a Court of Appeals decision that voided a 22500 judgment against Scottsdale for the Vista del Camino Neighborhood Center contract. Attorney Norman Skeens says a petition for review will be filed with the Court of Appeals and then the state supreme court. The appellate ruling sided with Deem on the five percent bid preference but found no timely appeal to the superior court. Skeens argues the criminal statute on preference enforcement could allow civil damages.
