Ford must decide on cattle donation to Honduras
President Ford faced a midnight deadline to accept an NFO offer of 1,000 calves for shipment to Honduras or see them slaughtered. The NFO warned the calves would be shot and buried if not delivered, saying the action follows Tuesday’s protest where 650 calves were killed to protest low prices. The plan contends a packing company would slaughter and ship meat to Moline, Illinois for Ford to receive.
