Judge Edwin Thurston struck down the Wilson Elementary School District policy requiring pregnant teachers to take leaves. Bomb threat at Los Arcos Sears hoax ends after alarm
Scottsdale police and firefighters investigated a reported bomb threat at the Los Arcos Sears store at 9 20 p m Friday but found no bomb. The threat came via telephone to the Los Arcos theater cashier and was relayed to Sears security guards. Police described the caller as a male with a voice like a 30 to 40 year old. Similar calls had been received in recent weeks.

Possible Illegal Burning Cited In Scottsdale Brush Fire
Scottsdale firefighters reported a minor brush fire on North 82nd Place possibly caused by illegal burning. The 4 10 p.m. blaze at 10818 N 82nd Pl used 25 gallons of water. Later, smoke odor at 2934 N Scottsdale Rd proved a faulty light fixture ballast. A car fire at 8331 N 75th St revealed freon vapors escaping from a 1967 Cadillac at the S Swisher residence.
