County Attorneys Seek Quick Bribery Trial for Tax Officials
Phoenix UPI. Arraignment expected within 10 days for Thad Moore and William E. Stanford state tax commissioners indicted on eight counts of bribery and one of conspiracy. Moore 69 surrendered and bonded. Stanford 51 jailed briefly then released. Both declined comment. Moore was long time Pinal County assessor and later state tax commissioner. Stanford youngest elected to tax commission in 1952 after serving as Maricopa County assessor.
