Phoenix considers stadium plan with ticket option funding
City staff propose selling season ticket options as a funding mechanism for a professional football stadium. One time option prices range from 50 to 200 dollars based on seat location, with annual payments by option holders. If 50,000 options are sold, 7 million would be available immediately, reducing bond needs to 10 million. A 60,000 to 65,000 seat stadium earning about 1.1 million in revenue from 50,000 attendees could cover a 13 year bond. The plan favors a nonprofit model but supports a smaller stadium between 7th and 16th Streets south of the Salt River.
