Salt River Water Users Plan Budget Reduction For 1950
Richard D. Searles, president, announced a tentative 1950 budget reduction for the Salt River Valley Water Users Association. The 1950 budget totals about 11 million dollars with a seven dollar fifty cent per acre assessment. Major cuts stem from 1949 spending for Gates at Horseshoe dam and the pump right well project, plus economies from asset replacements and reorganized operations. Final approval and assessment rates to be set at November board meeting while Searles travels to Washington for water issues.
