British police official escapes from Chinese border abduction

Burglar steals from Kiva Theater on Main Street
A burglar took about $405 from the Kiva Theater at 15 East Main Street Sunday between 7 a.m. and 12:01 p.m. The thief entered through the back door, opened a floor safe with a key, and left the back door ajar. Wallace Harrington, the theater manager, said only an employee or former employee would know the safe key. The haul included small bills and about $150 in change. No forced entry was found.
