The Rev. Leslie J. Ross, pastor of the Scottsdale Methodist church, was named recording secretary and director public relations for the Arizona Council of Churches at its annual sessions in Tucson. Dr. Fred Holmes, prominent Presbyterian layman, was also noted.
Announcement of Mildred Covington and Arthur Bratzel marriage made this week in Prescott on November 4. The bride wore a cocoa brown suit with yellow fladiolas corsage. Best man was Walter Starks of Scottsdale. matron of honor wore navy with pink corsage. The couple will reside at 110 West Second Street in Scottsdale.
Phoenix reports the Arizona Council reelected its president and mapped constructive future programs during the third annual meeting, noted as one of the most successful gatherings to date.
Alfred Austin aged 16, son of Mr and Mrs A Warren Austin, is selected as one of the nation s top 10 dairy herd production operators in 4-H clubs. Sponsored by Kraft Foods, the award includes an expense paid trip to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago from November 28 to December 2. Austin has eight years in 4-H and serves as junior leader of the local senior club, with a record of dairy awards.
The Methodist Youth Fellowship ends its Goodwill Drive this week with a Saturday collection at Goodwill Industries by 10 AM. Miss Gloria Beasley says the drive accepts usable household items in addition to clothing and already includes a cook stove chairs and bedsteads. Scottsdale residents are asked to donate by dropping a card to Box 372 or calling 54912 to arrange a pickup Friday or Saturday. The effort will resume in intervals throughout the year.
Bob Dillon distributed an aerial view map of downtown Scottsdale this week, produced after months of work. The map includes a business directory listing all local firms. Copies are available through local merchants or Bob Dillon.

The farmer began his dairy herd with a single Guernsey calf and has expanded it to 15 animals, nine of which are registered, competing in judging and showmanship at 4-H fairs across the state.
