Trio aids chase of Valley National Bank robbery suspects
A trio of young men joined Patrolman Robert Mack to chase two bank robbery suspects after a radio bulletin. Mike Ernst 22 Paul Osman 27 and Marvin Lewis 21 followed the get away car in a Mustang and a Thunderbird, forming a roadblock near Mockingbird Lane. The deserter suspects fled into the desert then returned to the road, with Mack's patrol car wrecked and Ernst taking the lead in the Mustang. Ernst described the ten minute pursuit as exciting and risky.
