Hanoi Rejects Thieu Plan for Talks in Paris

North Vietnam dismissed South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu’s scheme to limit U S and Viet Cong leadership in Paris negotiations as absurd. Saigon Leader Pushes Role in Paris Talks

Communist gunners fired 40 rockets from three sites near the DMZ into Marines camps one mile north of the border. In Saigon area fighting left 6 dead and 4 wounded for South Vietnam plus 53 rebels killed near the capital. U S bombers pounded suspected guerrilla positions northwest of Saigon ahead of possible Tet-like moves.

Burglars Break Into Girls Club Vending Areas

Thieves burglarized the Girls Club at 8520 BE Rose Lane between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. They climbed a fence to pry two soft drink machines. entry damaged a library door and a candy machine. About $10 in change and some candy were stolen.

Onassis airliner hijacked by Greek resistance duo

Two men from Florence, Uberto Giovine and Maurizio Panichi, hijacked an Olympic Airways flight from Paris to Athens with a pistol and grenade, forced a return to Paris, then were arrested. They claimed links to International Commandos for Greece and condemned the Greek military regime, while authorities later said the weaponry was unloaded. The note referenced Greek exile groups led by Andreas Papandreou.
