City plan vote delayed over Scottsdale south of Indian Bend
City council ends public hearings on the Scottsdale general plan south of Indian Bend Road and defers action to work sessions. More than 100 residents opposed light industrial zoning at 64th Street and McDowell Road, urging continued hearings to press residential-area concerns. Urban planners favored dispersed employment with low intensity development. Developers and landowners warned plan changes could scuttle existing plans. Final decision on the airport plan set for Nov. 20.
