Burglars strike four Scottsdale Road businesses and a school

Police report burglars hit four Scottsdale Road businesses and Coronado High School between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The largest haul came from Carpet Mart where three rolls of carpet worth 2000 dollars were taken after cutting a chain padlock. Other thefts included tools and cash from two stores, a tape recorder missing from the high school, and a radio with cash from Kwik Cleaner.

Motorcycle rider injured in Scottsdale crash

A 19 year old motorcyclist identified as David Hays of 4119 E Cochise Rd was listed in satisfactory condition at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital after a car struck his cycle at 3 08 p m at Scottsdale Road and McDonald Drive. Betty Janzik 43 of 8228 E Valley View was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn and driving on an expired license.
