Sex linked aspirin effect hints at gender differences
New York UP I reports scientists led by Dr Rene Menguy at the University of Rochester found serum from 54 women reacted with aspirin less vigorously than serum from 50 men. They note possible greater aspirin efficacy in women but higher risk of gastric ulceration, linking to lower aspirin esterase in female serum and rat livers. Final answers await further study.
