Nixon in Warsaw wraps up Moscow trip with Congress address
President Nixon arrived in Warsaw for a brief stopover before returning home to report to Congress and the nation on eight days at the Moscow summit. Bombings near Tehran delayed departure, but he greeted crowds, laid a wreath, and spoke to an 80-man honor guard as Warsaw showcased Polish and American flags along a ceremonial route. The stopover featured wreaths, a 56-piece Army band, and a televised welcome, with Nixon proceeding to Andrews AFB for the Capitol report in the evening.
