Recall signatures in doubt threaten Williams recall
About 40 000 signatures on petitions to recall Gov. Jack Williams may be invalid, Maricopa County recorder Paul Marston said. He cited 20 000 signatures from unregistered voters and 20 000 from deputy registrars, with an estimated 30 percent rejection rate. If both groups are invalid, the recall idea may fail. Apache County has already returned petitions for Bolin to review.
