McDonald youth listed in critical condition after Papago Park crash
John McDonald 17, son of former Scottsdale Assistant City Manager Ken McDonald, remains in critical condition at Barrow Neurological Institute with skull and leg fractures from a two car crash in Papago Park. Karen O Connor 15 is in good condition and Mary Pat O Connor 17 is in serious condition. the O Conors were riders in the other vehicle. Police say the cars collided at a Y junction by a pond and dirt roads, veering off and hitting other cars. Ken McDonald is on loan to Tempe and serving as acting city manager after Leland Kraft resignation six weeks ago.

Born in Yuma, he is survived by wife Bessie of Scottsdale, daughter Roberta Eaton of California, and a California brother and sister plus one grandchild. Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Mortuary with burial at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
