Judiciary panel votes to subpoena Nixon on tapes and diaries
The House Judiciary Committee, by large margins, moves to subpoena 11 Watergate tapes and diaries for 1972 and 1973, seeking material on Henry Kissinger era events and the Watergate cover up. Republican Rep. Hutchinson opposed the tape subpoenas, while most Democrats supported both orders amid debates over enforceability and executive cooperation.
