Victorian Oldest Scottsdale House Becomes Art Haven
The nearly century-old 1310 N Hayden Rd residence, described as Scottsdale's oldest Victorian, is owned by high school teacher-artist Joseph Gatti and his wife Margaret. They use it as home and art gallery, preserving interiors while adding bold renovations and showcasing Gatti's work, including a Salon des Refuses exhibit from the 1960s.

Scottsdale House Tale Gatti Home Ancestry Tale Of Pioneers
Maricopa County records show Daniel Titus of Oakland owned the land housing the Gatti home as early as 1888 before Gen. Winfield Scotts 1890 Scottsdale homestead. Tales say Titus built a grand 1875 mansion named The Mansion of Arizona and hosted lavish parties for railroad passengers. The Stevenson family held the house in the early 1900s with 160 acres, Mollie and B Frank Stevenson still living in Scottsdale, selling to Californians in the 1950s.
