No-Lose Approach To Parenting Gains Ground In Talks
Dr. Thomas Gordon promotes the no-lose method of parenting via a one day in eight weeks course called Parent Effectiveness Training. The system, created in Pasadena, updates the family council concept to resolve conflicts without wielding power or giving in. Gordon outlined the approach at an Arizona State University talk sponsored by Phi Delta Kappa, noting the method mirrors labor management and peer discussions to reach agreements. He has trained more than 15,000 parents and aims to offer the program locally.
