Burglary hits Scottsdale home. firearms and cash taken

Police report a burglary at James Schnell’s home on a weekend trip return. Thieves pried a sliding bedroom window, stealing $800 cash two rifles two shotguns and papers and a leather coat totaling about 1065 dollars. Vandals damaged Hall Park recreation building with doors kicked in papers torn and equipment scattered. A shovel was found embedded in a wall. No damage estimate available.

Democratic Party Structure Commission to hear reforms in Phoenix

The Democratic National Committee Commission on Party Structure and Delegate Selection holds a regional Phoenix hearing at 9 30 am in the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Auditorium. It is the sixth of 16 hearings through mid June with witnesses from Arizona and New Mexico. The five member task force led by Earl Graves includes Don Fraser I W Abel Albert Pena and Patti Knox. Herb Ely coordinates locally with vat Horney in Phoenix.

Camelback Jaycees Install Jim Greeno President at Ember Roast

Jim Greeno was installed as president of the Camelback Jaycees at a banquet Saturday night at the Ember Glo Restaurant, replacing outgoing president Dori Steward who received a Junior Chamber service award. New officers named include Gordon Smith internal VP Larry Lemke external VP Sanim membership VP Mitch Mitchell secretary Dennis Denyer treasurer. Directors are Bob Mejia Russ Kurtz Joe Collins Jerry Miles Floyd Ethington and Gaylor Gaines. Members honored include Lemke Greeno Kurtz and Lingenfelder with several yearly Jaycee and community service recognitions. Tom Murray of the Scottsdale Boys Band received the Jonathan Marshall award for youth service.

Car fires and debris fires reported across city neighborhoods

Fire units responded to multiple incidents from Saturday to Sunday including a 1200 damage to James E. Miller’s 1968 Volkswagen on Shea Blvd near 76th St and a 200 damage to Mrs. Jerry Weatherford’s car in Fashion Square parking lot. Minor fires many grass and brush areas were reported near Pima Rd Thomas Rd and other locations with limited damage. A strange note records transporting a large bull snake to a new home during a special duty call at Theodore H Mark’s residence.

National Association names Panarello president elect

Guy J. Panarello of 4825 N 83rd St was chosen president elect of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters at its Denver convention. A Boston native and Army Air Force veteran, he has practiced in Arizona for 23 years and runs Panarello Adjustment Co. with branches in Glendale and Pinetop. Panarello, a licensed adjuster, also handles aircraft claims and owns a plane.

Woman Hurt in Rear End Collision in Phoenix

A rear-end crash on 64th Street and Thomas Road Sunday morning injured Lucille Espy, 65, a Phoenix resident, who was a passenger in a car driven by Curtis Espy. The Espy vehicle failed to stop for a red light and struck Vincent Costa’s car, with Costa's vehicle stopped at the light. Lucille Espy received private medical care.
