Craftsmen Seek Plan To Reopen Scottsdale Shops
Scottsdale crafts shops, gutted by a May 2 fire at Main and Brown, seek a plan to keep the collective business alive. Building owner Tom Darlington says reconstruction is not now possible, while proposals for a community project gain support from nearly 90 residents and leaders including Wesley Segner of the Craftsmen’s Council and Clifford Carpenter of the Chamber of Commerce. The effort aims to keep the nine shops together, with bank outreach from the First National Bank of Arizona and moral and financial backing from local figures.
