Dennis Simmons died at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital after a motorcycle crash at Granite Reef Road and Virginia. The 7%-acre site will host a dry cleaner, laundromat, beauty shop, barber, bank, offices, and a post office substation along with a chain grocery, hardware, drug store, liquor shop, bakery and cafe. C-1 zoning was approved. construction may start in four to six months after site plan approval.
Yavapai area residents circulate petitions against Astro Development Corp proposed rezoning to highway commercial and multi family use for about 5 acres and 290 trailer lots surrounding Yavapai School. Planning and Zoning Commission will hear the proposals Tuesday with council approval required.
