Soviet built MIGs attack Floridian off Cuba
Two Soviet built MIG jets fired at least 30 machine gun bursts on the American motor vessel Floridian about 30 miles off Cuba and 19 miles north of Cayman Grande. Captain Curtis Olsen said the jets circled for 20 minutes and fired from up to 500 feet as the ship carried pineapples sugar and rum from Puerto Rico to Miami.
