Public housing needs funds for services and upkeep
A National Commission on Urban Problems survey argues federal aid should cover operating services in public housing, not just capital investments. It notes decay in units could be prevented with proper maintenance funds and tenant involvement, criticizing centralized management and lack of neighborhood services. Brooktrails Brooktrails Hyleopolis reveals Green City Dream in Mendocino
Brooktrails in northern California’s Mendocino County is described as a rest-focused city and conservation community. Developer Robert Beaumont started the project in 1967 from a golf course and lodge, financing via foreign investment and a federal partnership with Humboldt State College. The plan includes roads, sewers, water systems, dams, and recreation facilities, aiming to combine conservation with vacation amenities. In the first year, $25 million was invested in homesites, with many buyers becoming residents. Scottsdale Trailerville is renamed Mountain View Mobile Home Park.
