Volunteers enrich Catholic schools amid staff cuts in parishes
Involving 1,000 students, Catholic schools rely on 27 staff members and more than 185 volunteers, including 40 mothers at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and 85 women at St Daniel's. Volunteers handle library duties, office tasks, nutrition supervision, reading help, and art classes while fathers contribute by building facilities and coaching. The schools achieve about 150 per student annually versus public schools at 450.
